Jagan Flags Off Fleet of 146 Ambulances At Cost Of Rs 34.79 Cr

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has flagged off the 146 new ambulances that were purchased by the government at a cost of Rs 34.79 crore, in a bid to strengthen the healthcare services in the state. He did that at his camp office here on Monday.

The CM personally inspected the medical facilities installed in each ambulance to ensure that the patients would get high-quality emergency healthcare services. Health authorities maintain that the acquisition of new ambulances was to replace the old vehicles that had covered more than 2.50 lakh km and were requiring frequent repairs.

The 146 ambulances have been allotted to different districts based on the need. Accordingly, Anakapalli was allotted 4 ambulances, Anantapur 5, Annamayya 8, Bapatla 4, Chittoor 8, East Godavari 1, Eluru 4, Guntur 1, Kakinada 3, Konaseema 2, Krishna 3, Kurnool 7, Nandyal 13, Nellore 14, NTR 6, Palnadu 7, Parvathipuram Manyam 2, Prakasam 14, Sri Sathya Sai 7, Srikakulam 4, Tirupati 7, Visakhapatnam 2, Vizianagaram 11, West Godavari 2 and YSR Kadapa district was allotted 7.

The authorities said the launch of a new fleet of ambulances was an indication of AP government’s commitment to ensure the well-being and safety of all its citizens and added that with improved emergency the healthcare system, the state government was well equipped to handle medical emergencies and save the lives of the citizens.
