Indo-Pak Soldiers’ Initiative organises play on July 5
Bengaluru: The India-Pakistan Soldiers' Initiative (IPSI) for Peace, in collaboration with the Department of International Studies and History, Christ University, is hosting a play, “Hatya ek aakar ki” by renowned actor M.K. Raina, on July 5.
A seminar on “Dynamics of Pursuing Peace with Pakistan in the current Geo-Political Environment in the Subcontinent” will be held on July 6.
IPSI veterans and other members meet periodically to discuss issues confronting the two countries and debate options to take forward steps to ameliorate the condition of poor people on both sides, especially in J&K.
It is the initiative of executive president, IPSI, India chapter, Maj Gen Tej Kaul, and his team to involve the younger generation to help them understand the dimensions of India-Pakistan problems and to make them part of the decision-making process for future relationships as the youngsters of both the sides want peace and friendship to enhance cultural and educational exchange programmes, the organisers said.
Mr Sudheendra Kulkarni, ex-media advisor to former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, Interlocutor J&K Affairs, and veterans, including Lt Gen S.N. Handa, former DG, Infantry, faculty members of Christ University, Dr J. Alexander, former tourism minister, and Mrs Prema Cariappa, former MP and mayor of Bengaluru, are expected to attend.
IPSI was established by late Nirmala Deshpande, a Gandhian who was the chairperson of both India and Pakistan chapters till her demise. It was established to promote peace and friendship with India's neighbours, especially Pakistan.
