Bad weather: 100 AP Pilgrims stranded in Nepal

An AP government official said all tourists from the state were safe.

VIJAYAWADA: Groups of pilgrims on the Kailash Manasarovar yatra, including about 100 from AP, have been stranded at Hilsa in Nepal due to bad weather.

The Nepal government has stopped helicopter services to Hilsa in the Simikot region following heavy snowfall. Reports said the tourists were running short of food.

An AP government official said all tourists from the state were safe. The official said the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu had responded to the state’s request and was trying to transport the pilgrims from Hilsa to Simikot.
