Kerala assures job for Kalburgi ragging victim
KOZHIKODE: Law and SC/ST welfare minister A.K. Balan visited Aswathi K.P., the victim of alleged ragging in Karnataka, at Government Medical College, Kozhikode, and assured that she would be given a government job soon after completing her studies. He also handed over Rs 2 lakh to Ms Aswathi’s mother, Janaki. The government will bear all the medical expenses for the alleged victim of ragged by her seniors at Al Qamar College of Nursing, Kalaburagi.
The government will make arrangements for Ms Aswathi, who was doing her first year BSc nursing course, to continue her studies in Kerala, for free. She had to discontinue her studies and return after her internal organs were seriously damaged after the seniors force-fed her with an acid like cleaning lotion.
