Kochi: The National Investigation Agency on Friday filed third supplementary chargesheet in the hand chopping case before the Ernakulam NIA Court. NIA listed six persons including Mohammad Rafi, 36, Subair T.P., 35, M.K. Noushad, 43, Mansoor, 47, P.P. Moideen Kunhu, 55 and P.M. Ayoob, 44, all residents of Aluva. The accused were chargesheeted for committing offences under various sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. As per the chargesheet, the accused were part of criminal conspiracy to attack professor T.J. Joseph.
They conspired to create terror and facilitated attack as the member of a terrorist gang, destroyed evidence and harboured the assailants and other accused involved directly in the case. Prof T.J. Joseph was hacked on July 4, 2010 in connection with the question paper controversy at Newman college, Thodupuzha. The first accused Savad and Sajil are yet to be arrested. NIA Court had convicted 13 persons in the first phase of trial which complete in 2015.
