100-day action plan: Hyderabad officials say works will go on

Hyderabad city is on track to fulfill all the promises that are part of the 100-day plan, say officials.

Hyderabad: Top officials from the city are confident Hyderabad city is on track to fulfill all the promises that are part of the 100-day plan. Special Chief Secretary to TS government Mr. M.G Gopal said: “The 100 day action plan included 56 major task for the city, of which 40 have been completed, 11 tasks are 70 per cent complete. The city water board has achieved their entire list of tasks except for a pipeline work at Madhapur. Also, the GHMC has done a good work in eliminating vulnerable garbage points. Even as the 100-day action plan comes to an end, works will be an ongoing process. A report card on achievements will be issued in a day or two.”

GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy said: “Of all the 26 wor-ks, GHMC has achieved a 94.5 per cent completion rate. About pending works, the comprehensive development of 10 more graveyards - each at the cost of about Rs 1 crore will be completed by June 15. The modern market will be ready by end of June. Also, construction of compound walls at 350 open spaces will be completed by June 7. From the planned 569 BT roads, 526 have been completed and the remaining 43 will be completed within the first week of June.”

HMDA commissioner, T. Chiranjeevulu said: “Except for the 25-km cycle track from Nanakramguda to Kollur, all tasks have been completed by HMDA. The cycle track initially cost Rs 10 crore but after a detailed estimate the cost is now Rs 50 crore. HMDA has agreed to spend 10 crore and has written to the government for additional funds. HMDA has also completed the last phase of ORR, bridge over railway line at Keesara and the road from Keesara to Shamirpet. The first footover bridge over ORR is finished too. Even the online process for building, layout permission has been launched.”

Meanwhile, a senior official from city water and sewerage board said: “Except for the pipeline at Madhapur, majority of the tasks stand finished - including clearing pending water connection applications and rainwater harvesting pits. A major achievement was the diversion of the Kukatpally nala. Since then, there has been no sewarage discharge into the Hussainsagar.
