Identify house sop beneficiaries: CM Jagan

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked district collectors of Krishna and Guntur to prepare a list of beneficiaries for distribution of house site pattas to the poor in Amaravati as part of the third phase of the Navaratnalu programme.

The CM chaired the 33rd meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority here on Monday.

At the meeting, it was decided to distribute house sites to the poor from Krishna and Guntur districts in 20 layouts spread over 1,134.58 acres in Amaravati subject to clearance of legal hurdles.

The meeting also decided to allot house sites in Mandadam, Inavolu, Krishnayapalem, Navuluru, Kuragallu and Nidamanuru areas to 48,218 people, who were not having their own house.

The CM called for detailed project reports from district collectors of Krishna and Guntur and a list of beneficiaries to be given to the CRDA. He called for an action plan to develop basic infrastructure for construction of houses in an expeditious manner.

The works should start from the first week of May, the CM said.

The state government made changes to the CRDA Act to facilitate allotment of house sites to the poor under Section 41 (3) and (4), created the R5 zone and brought various lands under its jurisdiction. The government also issued a gazette notification creating the R5 zone after taking into consideration several objections and suggestions made during interaction with the public in October.

Municipal administration minister Adimulapu Suresh, chief secretary Jawahar Reddy and others were present.
