THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Electrical and electronic appliances worth over Rs 2 crore was gutted in a fire outbreak at a godown in Kodunganoor near Vattiyoorkavu on Thursday. The fire broke out at a house named ‘Sopanam’ which was rented out by one Shobhana as a godown to Ajeev who runs a prominent electrical appliance shop. At around 6am, fire broke out and appliances like televisions, grinders and air-conditioners were gutted by fire.
There were around nine rooms in the house and fire was reported first by morning walkers. Around five units of fire tenders from Chenkalchoola and Chackai station were pressed into action. The masked firemen entered the house and doused the fire. Ajeev who claimed to have shifted the goods to the house because of shop maintenance, said that there was goods worth around '3.5 crore.
