BKS to Organise Organic Mela in Vizag
VISHAKHAPATNAM: Jalagam Kumar Swamy, the national leader of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), has announced the organisation of the 4th Organic Mela aimed at gathering individuals engaged in the cultivation and consumption of organic produce. The announcement was made during a press conference held at BVK college conference hall on Saturday.
Scheduled from December 8 to 11, the organic mela will take place at the Andhra University Grounds, spearheaded by Prakriti Rythusangham. Emphasising the significance of cultivating nature-based crops in abundance to prevent water, air, and land pollution, Swamy highlighted the potential of leading a healthy life without resorting to chemical fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides.
The upcoming event includes a gathering of Uttarandhra farmers on December 8, a meeting of graduate farmers on December 9, a congregation of sugarcane farmers on December 10 and an assembly with organic businessmen on December 11. Additionally, a food processing training programme is set for December 9 afternoon, while health advice and recommendations from Dr. Ravi Varma are scheduled for December 11 afternoon.
Aruna and Sarita, members of City Terrace Garden, will conduct a comprehensive review meeting on aspects related to cultivating Terrace Gardens within the city. Subramanya Verma, the president of the Cow-based Natural Farmers Association, agricultural scientist Ashok Kumar, as well as representatives Ashok, Muralidhar and others were present.
