Chennai: Slight showers at isolated places of the state would intensify as the Regional Meteorological Centre on Tuesday forecast moderate and intermittent rains for South Tamil Nadu and Chennai for the next 24 hours.
The Southern districts including Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi and delta regions of Thiruvarur will receive moderate rains, said director of regional metrological centre, S. Balachandran.
On Tuesday, lower Papanasam dam at Tirunalveli received 80mm; Neyyur at Kanyakumari and Servalar dam at Tirunalveli noted 54 mm.
