E P Jayarajan to replace V S Achuthanandan at MLA hostel
Thiruvananthapuram: Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan has asked Administrative Reforms Commission chairman V S Achuthanandan to vacate the room allotted to him in MLA hostel. The direction comes in the wake of Achuthanandan being allotted Kawdiar House as official residence where he is currently residing. The first meeting of ARC was also held at his residence since the office space allotted to him at the Institute of Management in Government (IMG) was being furnished. Achuthanandan’s MLA hostel room will be allotted to former industries minister E P Jayarajan who resigned from Cabinet over appointment controversy.
It may be recalled that Achuthanandan was allotted Room 1-D on the first floor of Neyyar Block of MLA hostel here. At that time the decision on his future position had not taken place and the veteran leader had announced that he would be using the room as office. Achuthanandan had even told media persons then that he would be receiving complaints and petitions from the public at the MLA hostel. The veteran's plan was to take up their demands with the government. After taking over as Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman he now heads a government appointed body and now has limitations in expressing opinion against the ruling front.
