HYDERABAD: Health minister T. Harish Rao launching the logo to mark World Breastfeeding Day, which began on Tuesday, said that as per the National Family Health Review, Telangana had a breastfeeding rate of 68 per cent, surpassing the national average of 63 per cent.
He emphasised the critical role of breastfeeding in the well-being of a newborn as well as the health of the mother. Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited COO Vishwanath Swaroop, health secretary S.A.M. Rizvi and other officials were present during the launch.
