Cops foil suicide bid of teen girl in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Madhapur police rescued a teen who attempted suicide at the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge on Tuesday and rushed her to a hospital where she is recovering. The girl, a resident of KPHB, had been admonished by her mother for excessive use of her mobile phone.

On Tuesday, the girl left home ostensibly to go to college. Her mother later found that she did not go to college and immediately approached the KPHB police. Based on technical clues, police found that the girl was at Durgam Cheruvu and alerted the Madhapur police. The Lake police along with IT teams located the girl in the lake and rescued her with the help of a boat.

Cyberabad police commissioner M. Stephen Raveendra appreciated police personnel G. Srisailam, Naveen, Md. Rahamath Ali and B. Krishnaiah for their swift action.
