Trump, Modi are similar: Kanhaiya Kumar
KOZHIKODE: “American presidential candidate Donald Trump and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi express the same ideas,” opined JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar. “The only difference is that Trump speaks in English while Modi repeats the same in Hindi,” he added. He was inaugurating the anti-fascist conference of the AISF national council at Tagore centenary hall here on Monday. The convention highlighted the fake nationalism and religious terrorism.
“Modi is trying to promote his one-man show over the country’s democracy, which we need to attack at any cost,” he said. “In terms of education, economy and social reforms, Kerala stands much ahead of other states. Still Modi has dared to compare it with Somalia. Modi will be here for the national council of BJP when he should understand the importance of Kerala,” he added.
“The government is shifting focus from the real issues faced by students and the youth by punishing people in the name of cow and provoking communal feelings. Youngsters choose the wrong path as they are denied education and employment,” Kanhaiya said. Slamming the BJP government at the centre, he said, “we are against an ideology in which only one individual is being talked about. All Opposition parties need to unite to help one another,” he added.
