Chennai: A week after advocates across the state attempted to picket in front of Madras high court urging the court to withdraw its new disciplinary notification, over 100 advocates took out silent march near the court entrance on Monday.
Advocates led by senior advocate Vaigai condoled the death of Muthuramalingam, president, Tirunelveli District Bar Association, who died while returning home after taking part in a meeting of Joint Action Committee, which was spearheading the agitation highlighting the issue. Over 100 advocates assembled near Aavin gate and paid tributes to Muthuramalingam, who died following cardiac arrest two days ago.
After observing silence for a minute in memory of Muthuramalingam, the advocates took out a procession up to Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry building. They also observed silence for minute near the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry building and left the place. A large number of police force was deployed near the place.
