Agriculture Labourers, Tenant Farmers Unhappy With BRS Govt

KHAMMAM: Agriculture labourers and tenant farmers of the erstwhile Khammam district are not happy with the BRS government’s policies as they did not get the benefits of the welfare schemes in the state. That is why they want a change and support the Congress coming to power in the forthcoming elections in the state.

The villagers of the erstwhile Khammam thronged the Congress meeting here on Sunday.

Landless agricultural labourer Kota Yadagiri, 40, of Raghavapuram village in Chinthakani mandal, supports a family of four members, including two children, with the money he earns through wages. Yadagiri, who belongs to the Padmashali community, said he barely got Rs 600 a day. “I am not happy with the state government’s policies regarding the farmers, and there is no scheme for their welfare and security,” said Yadagiri. He added that there were many agricultural labourers in villages who were living in pathetic conditions.
