The cops who reached the spot found out the identity of the deceased and later arrested Ranjith, who confessed to killing him.

Bengaluru: A fight between two drunk friends over a trivial issue ended up in the murder of one of them at Ideal Homes at Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Dhyansagar (35), a construction worker. His friend Ranjith (27), who is the accused in the murder, has been arrested. According to the police, Dhyansagar, who hailed from Vellore in Tamil Nadu, had come to the city a few years ago and was working for a civil contractor. At the time of the incident, Dhyansagar was working for a contractor, Krishnappa, at a construction site in Ideal Homes.

Dhyansagar, whose family is in his hometown, stayed in a shed near the construction site, along with Ranjith and other workers. On Sunday night, Dhyansagar, Ranjith and their other friends had gone to a bar and drank together. Later, a fight broke out between Dhyansagar and Ranjith over a trivial issue outside the bar. Their friends who had accompanied the two pacified them and took them to their shed.

After reaching there, Dhyansagar said that he would leave for his hometown. Ranjith, however, insisted that he would drop him to the bus stand on a bike. While on their way to the bus stand at around 10.30 pm, the duo again fought over the same issue. The fight turned physical and Dhyansagar fell on the ground. Ranjith immediately took a boulder and smashed his head, killing him on the spot.

While Ranjith fled the spot after killing Dhyansagar, passersby spotted the body in a pool of blood and informed the police. The cops who reached the spot found out the identity of the deceased and later arrested Ranjith, who confessed to killing him.
