Hyderabad: Cops could nab only 3 of 17 trouble mongers
Hyderabad: The police are yet to arrest miscreants, including history sheeters and musclemen, who created trouble in the Biryani Shah Tekri area of Kalapather four days ago.
The Kalapather police have registered two cases and are looking for the trouble makers belonging to two gangs affiliated to different history sheeters.
The two gangs are affiliated to Wahed Mirza, Asad, Rahmath Mirza and about 20 of their associates created trouble in the area on Thursday night. The mob, armed with sticks, rods and lethal weapons, had a free run in the labyrinth lanes of the densely populated locality for about an hour. The police seized some motorcycles from the scene while the miscreants escaped.
After V. Satyanarayana, deputy commissioner of police (South), visited the area, the local police managed to arrest three persons on Friday, while another 17 involved are still on the run. Local people said that about 100 people had come to the area and created trouble. “All of them were shouting while running around creating panic in the area. They attacked a few houses and damaged motorcycles of people who are not connected to the incident. Their intention is to strike fear in the minds of the people of the locality who are protesting against their illegal activities,” said Inayath Baig, a resident.
M. Ravi, inspector of Kalapather, said that three persons were arrested and he expected a few more to surrender before the police soon. “Already three persons were arrested on Sunday and a few more are expected to surrender,” said the inspector.
