Never seen Saritha Nair, Biju Radhakrishnan: Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan

KOCHI: Former minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has told the solar commission that he has never seen Saritha Nair or Biju Radhakrishnan, the prime accused in the solar scam. During a sitting of the Justice G. Sivarajan Commission inquiring into the scam on Friday, Mr. Thiruvanchoor said that he had never met both the accused though Saritha had made a phone call to him once. "But, the call got disconnected soon after my gunman took it. I also doubt a phone call lasting 19 seconds was made from my phone to Saritha's number," he said.

He added that he attended the housewarming function of Shalu Menon, film and serial actor, whose family is known to him for long. "I don't know whether Biju Radhakrishnan was present there and was not aware about the cases registered, if any, against Shalu Menon," he added. "I have no idea whether the special solar probe team examined the phone call details of Saritha as they didn't submit the reports to me during my tenure as home minister," he said. His further hearing is posted to July 5.
