Croma outlet ordered to replace cooler

The product was delivered to the customer without a manual kit and warranty card

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-I directed Infiniti Retail Limited of Stellar Value chain to provide a new cooler to a 62-year-old customer who had earlier been delivered a defective cooler.

One S.V.S.S. Ramachandra from Boinapally filed a petition stating that he had purchased a Symphony air cooler from Croma showroom on March 4, 2021 paying Rs 14,650 after discount. The product was delivered the next day without a manual kit and warranty card. The complainant alleged that the cooling was less and it made a terrible noise. When he intended to return the product, the store manager refused to take it back. Despite the warranty period, they neither rectified nor replaced it.

After hearing the arguments of both parties, the commission directed the entity to provide a fresh cooler and pay Rs 5,000 as compensation and Rs 2,000 towards litigation charges.
