Hyderabad: In a first, Public Distribution System (PDS) has been integrated with T Wallet. PDS e-point of sale (PoS) devices are now integrated with T Wallet app. Initially, it is being piloted in Ranga Reddy district and within a month, it will be rolled out in all districts.
With this integration, citizens can make ration payment through T Wallet. It will also bring accessibility of digital transactions to citizens in remote and rural villages.
The pilot programme was launched by Commissioner, electronic service delivery GT Venkateshwar Rao, IT principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan and civil supplies commissioner Akun Sabharwalat at the Secretariat, Hyderabad.
They said that now the ration shop dealers will also get an opportunity for incremental income by providing various T Wallet services to citizens such as full Know Your Customer wallet account registration / upgrade low and medium KYC to full KYC TWallet account, loading money in to T Wallet account by giving cash to ration dealers mobile recharge, etc.
