Telangana CM's cousin injured in mishap

The incident occurred when the driver of the car in which they were travelling tried to overtake a lorry.

Nizamabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s relatives were injured in road accident near Tekrial in Kamareddy mandal on National Highway 44 on Thursday.

The incident occurred when the driver of the car in which they were travelling tried to overtake a lorry. As a result, Swaroopa, a cousin of the CM was injured and her daughter and two children escaped injuries narrowly.

According to police, Swaroopa visited Nizamabad on Thursday to take her daughter from in-laws house. While returning to Hyderabad, the car driver tried to overtake a lorry and hit it from the rear side. The victims immediately alerted their family members in Hyderabad and they alerted local TRS leaders.

On receipt of information, Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan, Yellareddy MLA E. Ravinder Reddy rushed to accident spot and shifted the injured persons to hospital in Kamareddy. After medical tests, they were shifted to Hyderabad.
Police shifted damaged car to Devunipally police station. It is believed that negligence of car driver led to the accident. TRS leaders in large numbers rushed to accident spot and hospital to inquire about the incident.
