GHMC readies 72 of 100 parks

GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy said 100 parks would be constructed at the cost of Rs 5.4 crore and work was on at brisk pace

Hyderabad: Against the target of 100 parks in the city limits, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation managed to set up 72 parks and said the rest would be completed before April 30.

The corporation with an intention have greater lung space for city residents, decided to construct as many as 100 parks in several colonies and bastis during 2017-18. But official apathy resulted in construction of 72.

GHMC Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy said 100 parks would be constructed at the cost of Rs 5.4 crore and work was on at brisk pace. Representatives from residential welfare associations were monitoring the progress of these works. He added that instructions had been given to the biodiversity wing to expedite works and finish the construction of the remaining 28 parks by April 30.
