Kalpathi girl Aiswarya Ram top scorer at IIM Kozhikode

He highlighted the importance of keeping an open mind and learning from all, while dealing with the inherent differences.

KOZHIKODE: Aiswarya Ram, of Kalpathi, Palakkad, has emerged the first girl top scorer of Indian Institute of Management- Kozhikode. She also set a record by securing 96.12 per cent marks. During the 19th convocation ceremony of the institution on Saturday, Dr K. Radhakrishnan, former ISRO chairman, honored Aiswarya and few other students with gold medal for brining laurels to the institution. A total of 524 students were honored with graduation certificates, of which 346 students from PGP class of 2017 were awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

In his convocation address Dr. Radhakrishnan, emphasized on the opportunities India offers as one of the most dynamic and emerging economies of the world. He urged students to make India the next biggest technology-based manufacturer in the world by developing novel methods to achieve this task. He highlighted the importance of keeping an open mind and learning from all, while dealing with the inherent differences.

"It is indeed an honor to get specially recognized from among a whole bunch of talented students of IIM-K," said Aiswarya. She has already landed a job at JP Morgan in Mumbai. Aiswarya's father Karimpuzhya Raman is the director of Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities and mother Dr Deepa is a paediatrician. She has a brother who is studying at United World College, Pune.
