Idukki collector orders probe into MLA S Rajendran land row

The legislator allegedly possesses eight cents of land owned by the KSEB.

Kottayam: Idukki district collector G.R. Gokul has begun an inquiry into the allegation that Devikulam legislator S. Rajendran had grabbed the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) land at Ikka Nagar in Munnar. The collector said inquiry was based on media reports and after verifying land documents, if necessary, he would seek a hearing from the MLA. “I have got no written complaint," he told DC. "I will check whether the MLA acquired the land complying with the usual procedures.”

The legislator allegedly possesses eight cents of land owned by the KSEB. He claims he had a title deed for the four cents. There is confusion over the existence of his house on this land. Records show the house is situated at the Survey number 843 of the KDH Village. But the house is on the piece of land with the Survey number 629.
