Hyderabad: Flat tyre costs 23 students test

A whopping 22,182 students remained absent from the second language (Paper-1), which was the first exam for the first-year students.

Hyderabad: Intermediate first-year students had trouble adjusting to the Board’s ‘one-minute condition’ which bars entry into exam centres even if students are a minute late.

The chaos reflected in the number of absentees recorded on the first day. A whopping 22,182 students remained absent from the second language (Paper-1), which was the first exam for the first-year students.

A total of 23 students from the Sri Chaitanya Girls College at Kukatpally missed their test after they turned up late at their centre at Nizampet. All students are from the IIT coaching campus in Aditya Bhavan.

Staff from the college said there were delays because the bus the students were travelling in had developed a flat. The heavy traffic along the Kukatpally-Nizampet route added to their woes, the staff claimed.

Meanwhile, twelve incidents of malpractice were reported from different parts of the state on the first day of the exams.
