Police implement Operation Zanjeer to prevent traffic woes in tri-cities

Warangal: The Warangal Traffic Police launched the Operation Zanjeer programme for the first time to control the traffic in tri-cities of Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet here under Warangal Police commissionerate limits in Hanamkonda district on Wednesday.

Receiving the orders from the Police Commissioner A.V. Ranganath to prevent traffic problems that occur due to irregular movements of street vendors and peddlers who move from one side of the road to the other side carrying their products either on a bicycle, hand or wheel carts, the Warangal traffic police officials designed a programme in the name of Operation Zanjeer.

Under the programme, to prevent the movement of the street vendors and peddlers, the traffic police who were deployed in that region will chain the carts and will lock it. In the evening before leaving the police personnel will remove the locks.

For the first time the Warangal traffic police officials under the supervision of traffic inspector Babu Lal implemented the Operation Zanjeer programme here at Pochammaidan area and locked the carts of the street vendors.

The Traffic Sis Raj Babu, David, RSIs Purnachandra Reddy, Shravan Kumar, street vendor’s association president Lingamurthy and Fakruddin were present along with others.
