International Kite and Sweet Festival in City From January 13

Hyderabad: Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao unveiled the poster of the International Kite and Sweet Festival, which will be held from January 13 to 15, in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The festival is being organised by the GHMC, in coordination with the police department, at Parade Ground in Secunderabad. Visitors will not be charged any entry fee.

Speaking after releasing the poster, Krishna Rao said, "We will hold the festival reflecting the culture and traditions of Telangana. Forty participants from 16 countries will attend the celebrations along with 60 from the native kite club members. Local and international sweet stalls will be opened. Cultural programmes will be held at the festival, along with stalls of handicrafts and handlooms."

Officials who participated in the poster programme included principal secretary (youth services, tourism and culture) Sailaja Ramayyar, tourism department director K. Nikhila, assistant directors K. Mahesh and Om Prakash among others.
