KTR to launch several projects in Hyderabad

Will inaugurate restored 17th-century stepwell in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: MA&UD minister K.T. Rama Rao will inaugurate the restored stepwell at Bansilalpet in Secunderabad in the presence of minister Talasani Srinivas on December 5.

The 17th-century stepwell was once a congested residential area hidden under 2,000 tonnes of debris for four decades. Electric lines have been shifted underneath the narrow bylanes while sewerage and drinking water lines have been realigned and rainwater harvesting pits have been constructed. The electric transformer that was right over the well has been relocated and there is a spacious parking area. The buildings have been painted in uniform colours.

Rama Rao will also inaugurate and launch some projects undertaken by HMDA in Kukatpally on December 3.

He will lay the foundation stone for seven projects costing a total of Rs 28.51 crore, including the Boin Cheruvu retaining wall in Bowenpally at Rs 4.48 crore, Manasarovar Nala 'T' junction, smart drain from Ali Complex to RR Nagar costing Rs 555 lakh, development works at Rangadamuni lake (IDL Lake) costing Rs 9.80 crore and HIG Park works costing another Rs 2 crore.

He will launch development works pertaining to KPHB Phase-II Balaji Nagar's indoor shuttle court and Prahari Wall, at an estimated cost of Rs 1.95 crore, Hindu Shamshan Ghat at KPHB Phase - VII costing Rs 3.23 crore and another indoor shuttle court at KPHB Phase – IX at a cost of Rs 150 lakh.

KTR will be accompanied by mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, deputy mayor Srilata Shobhan Reddy and corporators, among others.
