Adilabad reports 7°C on Thursday

The IMD said mercury levels are likely to drop further to 10ºC after the first week of December.

Hyderabad: Adilabad recorded a temperature of 7ºC on Thursday, and most places in the state recorded temperatures that were 5ºC below normal. Hyderabad recorded 15.6ºC.

The IMD said mercury levels are likely to drop further to 10ºC after the first week of December.

IMD-Hyderabad director Y.K. Reddy said, “In the first few days of December, Hyderabad will witness a rise in minimum temperature due to the depression over the Bay of Bengal. Once the system crosses the cost, the night temperatures will drop in the second week. Hyderabad falls in the zone where the minimum temperature is expected to go to 10ºC.”

Medak, Karimnagar and Khammam recorded tempertaures 15ºC on Thursday. The IMD said there is no official onset of winterm and the period from mid-December to February is considered the cold season. The low temperatures are attributed to north-eastern winds.
