Kadiri politicos accused of grabbing CIGM land in Anantapur, Bengaluru

total value of the properties usurped by leaders is at least Rs.75 crore in the present market

ANANTAPUR: Bengaluru police registered cases against 37, persons including a former minister and leaders from various political parties of Kadiri town, in connection with fabricating false evidence and producing forged documents to grab prime land of Ceylon and India General Mission (CIGM) in various parts, including here and in Bengaluru.

Dr. Tyagaraj , chairman of CIGM lodged a complaint with Pulakeshi Nagar police station on October 6. The total value of the properties usurped by leaders was at least Rs.75 crore in the present market causing extensive loss to CIGM, he said.

He observed the rich lands were swindled by the group of persons. The properties were to be developed for social purposes like orphanages and schools but the fraudsters had misled courts by submitting forged documents after suppressing material facts.

“It clearly shows that they relied on the strength of an alleged agreement of sale purported to have been executed in their favour by late A. Jayaraj and every case has been filed subsequent to the death”, Tyagaraj said.

The Mission is a company which controls and monitors approximately 130 churches, schools, boarding homes and other properties throughout the country. In 1991, a general power of attorney was executed by the erstwhile directors of the company in favour of A .Jayaraj and the said document was registered as No.667/1990-91 at the office of sub registrar of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru city.

Through such GPA, Selvaraj was empowered to convey the properties owned by CIGM to further the interests of the Mission, he said. Jayaraj expired in 1999.

Tyagarj said that B. Elisha Hemanth Kumar was the mastermind behind the conspiracy to usurp various properties owned by CIGM. They submitted relevant documents. Mission property located near Frazer town of Bengaluru city was wrongfully usurped by A Narasimha Reddy, Mallesh, Ratta Chinna Mallaish, Sadhu Srinivasulu, Steven Kumar and Sri Reddy Venkataramana after forging an agreement of sale in the name of Selvaraj. There are several others involved by using similar documents to encroach lands in Kadiri and Hindupur areas. Leaders from YSRC, TD, Congress and other parties and their close aides from Kadiri are reportedly involved.
