Report on Tom Jose to be delayed
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) will submit a report on the investigation against additional chief secretary Tom Jose to the government only after further examination of the documents seized. According to vigilance sources, the bank account details, property documents and other documents recovered during the raids on Friday need to be verified. A Vigilance team is also planning to go to Maharashtra to collect details of the land purchased by Tom Jose at Sindhudurg.
"While submitting a report to the government recommending any action against Tom Jose, there should be solid supportive grounds. Hence further verification of documents is required," said a Vigilance official. Vigilance director Mr. Jacob Thomas told a section of media that he was busy preparing an affidavit for submitting before the High Court in a case against him concerning his taking private employment without government permission. "I have to dust off old files to present my case before the High Court on November 3. “Hence I am not able to concentrate on any other thing at the moment,” Mr. Thomas said.
