Kollam: Kollam City Police Commissioner Satheesh Bino has sought an explanation from civil police officers at Sakthikulangara police station on a controversial selfie photo posted by three youth wearing a police cap. The youths were nabbed by the police for drinking in public. When they were taken to the police station, the youths took a selfie and posted it on Facebook under the status ‘feeling happy from police station’, in which one of them was spotted wearing a police cap.
There were complaints that the trio was drinking in public at Sakthikulangara after which they were nabbed by civil police officers attached to the station. The youths have been identified as Saj Aloysius, Tony Francis, and Bijo Ben, all from Sakthikulangara. They were slapped with a fine, after which the selfie was taken. However, the police officers on duty at the police station claim that the picture was taken without their knowledge. The trio seeing that there were fewer policemen took the opportunity to take the selfie, they claimed.
