Medical technology must help patients: Justice J B Koshy

A series of live surgeries performed at various specialty centres in India and abroad were telecast live.

Kochi: Advancements of medical science and technology in the fields of treatment, care and health of women has to be regarded as a tribute to all women and the society has to ensure that its benefits reach them, Justice J.B. Koshy, former chairman of Kerala Human Rights Commission, said. He was inaugurating the sixth international conference and live surgery workshop on gynaecological endoscopy here on Friday.

Outlining the growth and development of gynaecological endoscopy from conventional straight stick keyhole surgery to robotics, Dr. Paul P.G, chief gynaecologist, Pauls Hospital, said that the latest 3D imaging and robotic laparoscopic techniques supply enlarged three dimensional imaging of surgical elements facilitating faster and more accurate surgery.

A series of live surgeries performed at various specialty centres in India and abroad were telecast live. The three-day meet jointly organized by the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists and Pauls Hospital is being attended by more than thousand delegates from across the country and abroad.
