BJP decries Yogam chief pressure tactics
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has rubbished SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan's suggestion that his Bharat Dharma Jana Sena should have joined the LDF. He described it nothing else than pressure tactics. It was not the first time Mr Natesan publicly humiliating the BJP. The irony is that while he enjoys it, his son and BDJS president Tushar Vellappally rubs shoulders with the BJP leaders at the NDA meeting.
He did it again just a few hours before the NDA meeting began at Cherthala on Thursday. “Mr Natesan has the right to admonish the BJP which he is doing publicly. But the son informed the meeting that he would not ditch the NDA,” Mr Rajasekharan told DC. At the meeting, C. K. Janu, leader of Janadhipathya Rashtri- ya Sabha, came down heavily on the BJP central leadership for not keeping their promises. She told them there was no point in continuing in the NDA like that. Other allies also agreed.
The SNDP Yogam was meeting simultaneously as the stormy session continued.
Another top BJP leader told DC that when the two meet, there was no camaraderie lost between them. “Mr Natesan humiliating the BJP is not new," he said. "During his 81st birthday celebrations recently, former BJP state president V. Muraleedharan had attended. Similarly, Mr Rajasekharan and former state president P. K. Krishnadas too enjoy very cordial relations with him."
