Start Uppal corridor works: BJP

HYDERABAD: BJP state vice-president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar on Monday accused the state government of adopting a step-motherly attitude and delaying the construction of the Uppal elevated corridor. Prabhakar led a protest rally against the government, demanding that the stalled work on the elevated corridor be taken up immediately.

He said the state government was not even taking up repairs of the road along the elevated corridor for which the Central government had sanctioned Rs 1.69 crore. He warned that if the road repairs and stalled work on the corridor are not taken up, the BJP would call for an Uppal bandh.

Recently, Union minister G Kishan Reddy, after inspecting the area, urged the government to take up the works without any further delays.
