D Cinemaas encroachment row: Survey finds no encroachments

The survey was conducted on Thursday at Kizhake Chalakudi village on survey numbers 680 and 680/1.

Thrissur: The district survey department officials could not find any encroachment of government land by actor Dileep for his D-Cinemaas at Chalakudy during the preparation of the sketches of the survey on Monday. Sources said that the sketch was almost complete and there was little possibility of finding the encroachment of 85 cents of revenue land. The survey was conducted on Thursday at Kizhake Chalakudi village on survey numbers 680 and 680/1 in view of the allegations of encroachments by the actor. The sketch to be submitted to district collector A. Kowsigan will be completed by Tuesday afternoon.

There is a rivulet flowing through the area and the Chalakkudy municipality could assess whether it is included in its asset register, sources said. The complaint regarding the alleged encroachment was filed in 2014 and former district collector M. S. Jaya had then given a report in favour of the actor by conducting a survey. But the land revenue commissioner rejected the report and directed the district administration to conduct a hearing on the matter to find out and attach the encroached land.

Eight sittings were held in Thrissur without revenue officials taking any decision on the encroachment, complainant Santhosh of Aluva had said. He had submitted 59 supporting documents to prove his allegations. Survey officials said that all the documents would be verified. The lawyer of the complainant P.A. Ayub Khan had said that nearly 35 cents of land in procession with D-Cinemaas were acquired for road development and the revenue records were then manipulated to give more land for D-Cinemaas.
