Kidnapped Odisha villager killed by naxals

The Maoists killed Kobasi in a ‘Praja Court’ held on Saturday night and released the other two persons after beating them black and blue.

Bhubaneswar: Suspected Maoists killed one person and released two other persons, whom they had kidnapped on Friday, suspecting them to be police informers. The deceased was identified as Guja Kobasi, while the abducted persons were identified as Masa Sodhi and Onga Kalimali of Kukurakunda village in Mathili area. According to sources, nearly 15 to 20 armed red rebels reached the village and forcibly took the trio with them. The Maoists killed Kobasi in a ‘Praja Court’ held on Saturday night and released the other two persons after beating them black and blue.

Though the exact reason behind the abduction is not clear yet, it is believed that the red rebels might have kidnapped the duo suspecting them to be police informers. Meanwhile, the Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena informed that already a probe has been initiated into the incident and combing operation has been intensified in the area.=
