There is no need for central government employees to visit banks to start pension as their copy of the Pension Payment Order (PPO) will be handed over to them at the time of retirement.
Khammam: Pensioners are suffering due to the delay in distribution of pensions under Aasara scheme. About 1.53 lakh pensioners have been making their way to banks and panchayat offices daily and forced to return disappointed. Asara pensions are given to widows, toddy-tappers, weavers, elderly and differently-abled.Officials should start distribution of pensions from the first. of every month. The scheme helps them buy medicines and essential items. Now, due to the delay in pensions being deposited, they have been forced to postpone fulfilling even their emergency needs.
