NSS to focus on disability

It would focus on Dis-ability and Drinking Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Housing Condition this time.

Hyderabad: The 76th round of the National Sample Survey (NSS) will be conducted for a period of six months from July to December 2018 across India.

It would focus on Disability and Drinking Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Housing Condition this time.

The All India Work-shop of Trainers (AIWOT) for the survey will be held in city from April 5 to 6 in which survey staff will be trained on how to enumerate the data accurately.

National Statistical Commi-ssion chairperson Dr Radha Binod Barman will inaugurate the workshop on April 5.

The main objective of the survey is to obtain reliable data for for providing estimates of important indicators, relating to disability as well as those related to living conditions necessary for decent and healthy living of household members, housing condition and facilities for living required by the government for planning and formulating its policies.

Socio-economic surverys conducted by National Survey Sample Office (NSSO) during its different rounds are the primary source of various indicators for planning, policy formulation by the governments.
