Cabinet berth not a priority: A K Saseendran
KOZHIKODE: Former transport minister A.K. Saseendran has said that returning to the state cabinet was not his priority now. He also supported the induction of Mr Thomas Chandy in the cabinet in his place. “My resignation upholding political morality has been vindicated. The priority is not to hold ministerial berth, but promote the politics of the left front,” he told reporters. Asked why he cannot return to the cabinet as the news channel had confessed that it was a honey trap, Mr Saseendran said that he would not take the initiative for his return.
“Politicians and elected representatives are prone to commit mistakes and such wrong- doers should be punished,” he said. He urged the people, especially mediapersons, to ponder over such journalism being practised. “I am glad that the entire society debated the matter. I have been freely interacting with scribes in Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram,” he said. He also favoured a police investigation rather than a judicial probe into the matter. “There is no need for two probes,” he said.
