Women can balance family and business too: Vistaraku founder

Tirupati: Telangana-based Vistaraku founder Madhavi Vippulancha, observes that the greatest obstacle women face as an entrepreneur is effectively balancing both family life and business. They can, however, succeed provided they work with confidence, she stated.

The founder of Vistaraku, which manufactures tableware made of biodegradable organic leaves, participated in the 36th National Science Day Celebrations of the Innovation Council of Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology organised at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the theme – Women Entrepreneurs and Challenges – the entrepreneur from Telangana’s Sircilla, encouraged everyone to adopt eco-friendly and sustainable products in their everyday lives, from teacups to menstruation pads, so that the ecosystem can process accumulated waste.

"We launched our tableware initiative to combat single-use plastic. There are several advantages in using leaf tableware. It adds antioxidants to food, is visually appealing and stimulates hunger," Madhavi said about her products.

She said as time goes by, her company will employ 100 women in its manufacturing process.

The Vistaraku founder demonstrated different types of biodegradable tableware. She underlined the need for using biodegradable menstrual pads and cups, as these are a better alternative to non-biodegradable sanitary napkins.

She emphasised that innovative ideas are important for entrepreneurs for the nation's long-term eco-friendly growth.

Staff and students of the Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam exchanged ideas with the woman entrepreneur on environmentally friendly products.
