Telangana: Exam centre app Locator has glitches
Hyderabad: The Telangana Intermediate Board’s Exam Centre Locator mobile app developed initial hiccups on Tuesday. Students had mixed luck while using the technology service. While details of exam centres were easily displayed after typing the hall ticket number of the candidate, besides showing easier navigation route on Google Map from their location based on GPS co-ordinates, a few students could not get the required information.
Candidate S. Raghava said he could not get the centre’s location, and it kept on loading. Another student S. Lohitha complained that it was not working and urged the authorities to effect the needful changes. A college lecturer D. Bhadrasen said students with low speed mobile data usage, faced problems in accessing the application.
Student Vikas Konaparthi had good words to say about the centre locator. He said he found it to be very helpful. Representatives of Digital Consortium, that was extending technology assistance for the app, said they faced problems initially due to the few modifications in the list. “However, we took the issue to the notice of the authorities, after which the information was updated. Students, who raised complaints initially informed us that their problem was solved,” they said.
