Democratic Youth Federation of India to take on moral policing
Kozhikode: With a mission to fight moral policing and pseudo-nationalism and to democratise campuses, the Democratic Youth Federation of India is launching a nationwide campaign - Citizen Assembly. Its main slogan is supporting democracy on each campus where no moral policing rules. “Fascist forces are trying to impose a saffron agenda, but DYFI would not tolerate moral policing. It is indeed a shame on class and mass organisations in involve in such activities," DYFI national president Mohammed Riyaz told DC.
“Citizen Assembly is one way we are going to fight pseudo-nationalism. Irrespective of the political affiliations, we will welcome all to be part of our mission that is free from the clutches of any political party, religion, caste or creed. Let’s use this forum to debate whether men and women from different communities can talk to each other or not and who gives them the right to take the law into their hands?” he asked.
