HC imposes costs on cop seeking speedy action

Hyderabad: Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Tukaramji of the Telangana High Court strongly disapproved the action of police personnel in filing a writ petition seeking alteration of seniority and recasting of year-wise panel from 1972-73. The bench imposed costs of Rs 50,000. N Shyam Prasad Rao, DSP, said he was a direct recruit in 1991.
The bench found that the he had represented to the authorities on January 19 and moved the court on January 22 and within eight days wanted the government to deal with the grievance. The bench did not rule on the grievance but faulted the petitioner for pressing the speed button.
