JNTUK to Start Distance Courses for Professionals

Kakinada: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUK) Vice- Chancellor, G.V.R.Prasada Raju, said the university would introduce distance learning programme for working professionals through Open and Distance Learning Directorate.

On the New Year day on Monday, Prasada Raju, said that there was a need for professionals to pursue courses related to their respective jobs requirements and the JNTUK would facilitate such an environment for them.

Furthermore, he said the University College of Engineering Kakinada (UCEK) has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in CSE courses in B.Tech, data science in M.Sc, hospital management courses in MBA. The classes have begun for such courses. The training and placement cell would be strengthened and the awareness camps will be organized for the students to pursue MS.

The recruitment fair will be organized soon. The university has entered into an agreement with German universities for enabling students to secure jobs on higher pay or perks.

A convocation building is being constructed on the university campus and it will be completed soon, whereas the construction of Platinum Jubilee Alumni Centre Building is underway at an estimated cost of Rs.4 crore. The facility will have 30 rooms, said the V-C.

Apart from this, new hostel buildings are being constructed for students who are studying ICP courses in collaboration with foreign universities. The University College of Engineering, Narasaraopet campus is being developed and the college will be shifted to its own building soon.

The JNTUK’s 10th convocation will be held soon and roads and drains will be constructed on the campus.

The V-C said that JNTUK has secured A+ NAAC grade and UCEK bagged NBA recognition. The rector K.V.Ramana, registrar L.Sumalatha, director of academic audit Ch.Saibabu and others were present.
