Promised land
The comprehensive land survey being taken up after a gap of over seven decades reached the concluding stage in 2017. Over 95 per cent of the survey has been completed and the balance 5 per cent will be over in the first week of January 2018. The survey will put an end to land disputes by purifying land records. The survey started on September 15 in all districts barring Hyderabad. In the city, the survey will be taken up in April 2018. Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the electronic pattadar passbooks on January 26.
T-Hub Inc.
T-Hub Reactor, world’s largest start-up campus, will be ready by 2018. With several businesses units already be under one roof, T-Hub Reactor aspires to expanding the business units further. Mr.Kollipara said, “We are talking to different countries to put up their start-up desks in the T-Hub Reactor. We want to encourage corporates to set up their innovation lab with us.”
Digital Telangana
Internet to every household of Telangana will be realised in the mid of 2018. The Telangana Fiber Grid (T-Fiber) project, aimed at providing Internet connection to every household in Telangana, would be completed by mid 2018. Fibre cables are being laid along with the Mission Bhagiratha pipelines. T-Fibre is envisioned to establish a state-of-the-art network to realise the objective of 'Digital Telangana'.
Bridging gap
If everything works according to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s plan, the city will have its first ever cable bridge running over the Durgam Cheruvu. The cable bridge will ease traffic snarls on roads leading to Jubilee Hills, Hitec City, Financial District and Gachibowli. A German lab is roped in to conduct the fatigue test on the rope bridge. The idea is to ensure safety of the structure with high-quality precision.
Bhagiratha record
The flagship programme of the state government is being taken up at a cost of nearly Rs 45,000 crore to provide uninterrupted piped and treated water to every household in the state. It will become a reality in 2018. Trial runs are currently being held in all the districts. While the deadline to complete the project is December 2018, the government is all set to create a record by completing the project six months in advance.
Power sops
24x7: Telangana will become first state in the country to provide 24x7 free power to agriculture from January 1, 2018. The government is hopeful of the scheme, costing over Rs 5,500 crore per year, becoming a game changer for the agriculture sector and in increasing farmers’ income. Currently, a nine-hour free power supply is being provided to the agriculture sector.
Almighty Aadhaar
Aadhaar card holders, who haven’t linked their bank account or PAN with the Aadhaar yet, can breathe easy as the Centre has extended the deadline till March 31, 2018. Social benefits through the biometric card include 139 government subsidies and other schemes, funded from the country’s consolidated fund.
Stay connected
Police stations in Telangana will have a social media account for the public to reach out from next year. Besides, police stations will also have an online petition tracking system.
Elders’ nod
The Bill is pending in the Rajya Sabha, which will bring about radical changes in the way road transport is managed in India. Nitin Gadkari, Union minister for transport, is hopeful that the Bill will be cleared before the Winter Session ends. The Bill assumes importance due to changes in the 30-year-old law. It proposes high penalties for various traffic offences: a three-year jail for parents of minor drivers for causing fatal accidents and a 10-fold increase in compensation for families of accident victims.
Writing history
The TRS government is going to create history by diverting Godavari water to the various irrigation projects and canals under the Kaleswaram project in 2018. Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao confidently says that works related to diversion of waters from Medigadda, Sundilla and Annaram barrages through three pump houses will be completed by June 1 in 2018.

The city is gearing up for another major event, World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), to be held on February 19. This is for the first time Nasscom India Leadership Forum is being held at global scale in Hyderabad.
Jai Kisan
The scheme is touted as the first of its kind initiative in the country and will come into force from May 2018, covering about 60 lakh farmers. The scheme, costing around Rs 10,000 crore per year, is expected to come as a big relief to the debt-ridden farmers. The farmers’ coordination councils also will come up in 2018 which will ensure MSP for farmers.
Spot the big cat
The fourth nationwide tiger census will be held from January 22 to January 29. The forest department is recruiting volunteers, including students, to join the week-long census, which is being undertaken in the state for the first time. According to statistics by the forest department, the tiger population has been growing at 6 per cent annually which can be further increased by undertaking necessary steps. The census will be conducted in Kawal and Amrabad Tiger reserves and also wildlife sanctuaries of Pocharam, Eturnagaram and others.
