Chennai: A 48-year-old attempted suicide by consuming poison near MGR-Jayalalithaa memorial on Saturday to express his objection against making Sasikala as AIADMK party chief.
Police identified the man as K. Sivaji Ananth of Karnanodai, Tiruvallur district.
He had consumed rat poison and admitted to Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital. His condition is said to be normal. In his note in Tamil he said he couldn't think of Sasikala in the place of Jayalalithaa.
