IInvenTiv-2024: IIT Hyderabad and E-Spin Nanotech Ink Technology Transfer Deal

Hyderabad: IInvenTiv-2024, India's prominent R&D innovation fair organised by the Union ministry of education, at IIT Hyderabad, concluded with the formalisation of a technology transfer agreement between IIT Hyderabad and E-Spin Nanotech for the commercial application of cellulose-based nanofibre feminine hygiene products. The 3rd edition is slated to be hosted by IIT Madras.

The event featured panel discussions on affordable healthcare, agriculture and food processing, defence and space, Industry 4.0, and sustainable technologies. The affordable healthcare panel emphasised the growth potential in the domain and the need for industry support to develop cost-effective, high-impact innovations.

The discussions on agriculture and food processing focused on technology tailored to rural conditions, urging the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) for sector advancements. In the defence and space sector, the focus was on strategies for fostering disruptive innovations, with an emphasis on increasing India’s share in the global space industry.

Industry 4.0 revolved around maximising indigenisation, data-driven approaches, and adapting education curricula to support innovation. The sustainable technologies panel stressed responsible consumption and production, advocating for efficient resource utilisation and positioning India as a global leader in recycling.
