Hyderabad: A man who rammed his car into a religious place and tried to mislead cops by trying to implicate his driver, was arrested by the Banjara Hills police on Wednesday.
According to the police, E. Srikanth, on the night of January 15, consumed liquor along with his friends at a pub. Srikanth dropped his friends and was returning home when he rammed his car into a religious place at Banjara Hills and fled the scene .
Later, a person named Nagarjuna, approached the police station and said that he was driving the car and hit the religious place. However, when the police called up Srikanth and questioned him, they grew suspicious of his statement.
The IT cell cross-checked the CCTV footage and found that it was Srikanth who drove the car and hence a case for misleading the police and damaging the property was registered against him, police said.
